Book review: Monocultivar olive oil by Mr.Celletti
Should you wish to read a brief, well written, sharp and in many places ironic if not caustic overview of beliefs and misbeliefs, as well as more than some myths and truths about olives and olive oil, this is the book for you. I read it in italian, but Mr.Celletti had the book translated and is now available in english too.
Steering well clear from technicalities and deep dwellings about specific issues,
the author keeps in sight his goal and guides you through various aspects of chemistry, production and commercial placement of olive oil, assisting the reader to understand what olive oil is, and what is not.
Looking at it from a different point of view, one may use it as a manual with simple and straight bits of info which will for sure help the newly interested traveller in the world of olive oil to approach it free of various misbeliefs, and with some proper foundations.
From the producer point of view, I found some points of view to be particularly good food for thought - implementation will be given a serious thought.
